Friendships

Hello Loyal Readers! This weekend has been great. I had many things to do and I had an amazing time. One of the things I was able to do this weekend was visit the Operation Barnabas team! I went on Operation Barnabas in 2018 and I had the best time. Not only was I able to talk to others about Jesus and grow more in my faith, I was able to meet some wonderful people.

Yesterday, the Operation Barnabas team came to a church near me so I decided to go because I knew some of my old team members were on tour with this summer. They did a fantastic job in service and it was an uplifting experience. The church was having a picnic that afternoon and the group would be in attendance. I decided to stay to be able to catch up with my friends.

During the picnic I was able to catch up with everyone I hadn’t seen in almost 2 years! One of my former leaders and I had a wonderful conversation about education and being a teacher. One of my team mates and I were able to talk just briefly about how life was currently going. But perhaps the best conversation I had was with another one of my former team mate.

We didn’t hang out a lot on OB, but we did have lots of moments where we had the opportunity to get to know each other. When we started to chat the other day, it was like a high school reunion. We had missed two years of each other’s lives, so we had so much to talk about. We were able to almost completely catch up with each other but unfortunately the group had to leave to go back to CE National for the night.

I will forever be bonded in friendship with the group of OB kids. We experienced a lot of things together and it is always a joy to get back together to catch up. Friendship is important to everyone. It doesn’t matter if you live 5 minutes apart or 5 hours apart, whether you see each other every day or every few years. It is always a good idea to have someone to talk to and share your life with.
