Do We Leave Our Cross at Home?

Hey guys, sorry I didn’t post last week . I was struggling. My grandpa ended up passing away last Monday. I really had mixed emotions towards it, and I was not feeling up to writing a post last week. I hope you all understand. However, I am finally doing a whole lot better. So, today I will write a post on something that has been on my heart for awhile.
I am going to start off with a question:
The way that you live – are you living like Jesus?
I can tell you there are definitely parts of my life now that are not very Jesus-like. However, there are different areas in my life that are.
I am challenged with this on the daily. How can I be glorifying God if I know I am doing things that aren’t Jesus-Like? I will be completely honest. The language I use around certain people does not represent Jesus. If I want people to see Jesus in my life I can’t go around swearing because then I am not really representing Him, am I?
This is something in my life that I have to learn to remove or decrease so I can help God increase. Look at what the Bible has to say about us decreasing for Him,
“He must become greater; I must become less.” -John 3:30
This is what I mean. All
of us , including me, have to be less in order for God to increase. We can’t be the one to be glorified for whatever we might do. All of the Earth’s glory and praise we receive should point back to God.
I have been given the opportunity a number of times to pray with a child to “Say Yes to Jesus” but when I talk about it. I don’t say, “I prayed with a kid and had them say yes” Rather I say “God gifted me the opportunity and spoke through me in order to have this child decided to say yes.”
I shouldn’t give myself the credit, because it is nothing about what I did, it is all about how God gave me the words and opened the heart and mind of whomever I might be talking to.
Right here I am giving God all the credit. That is how it should be. Giving God all the glory.
Another thing is if I am a follower of God, I get brought back to Matthew 16:24 on the daily,
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me”
I often wonder if I am actually taking up my cross daily or am I leaving it behind at home.
I challenge you guys this week. Take up your cross daily and glorify God in every way you can. In order for him to increase while you decrease.
Thanks for poppin in,
Raegan
