Not Very Typical

Hey guys, welcome back, I’m so happy you guys could join me today. I don’t know where everyone is from, but I am from Ohio. And I am not a fan of the snow and the sheets of ice everywhere. I feel like I’m driving or walking on ice everywhere I go. Walking into school wasn’t walking it was straight up skating.

However, today we are going to talk about my relationship.  With God, but how me and Seth have a relationship together honoring God. So, for those of you who don’t know. Seth is my boyfriend. And we have been dating for seventeen months. We met in LA on a mission trip about two summers ago. Crazy it has been that long. But we built our relationship on God and friendship other than dating. We met serving the Lord, not looking to be in a relationship.

In this relationship, our goal is to honor God in everything we do. This is different from most relationships. We are in high school, and for most relationships in high school, it is for pleasure or fitting in. However, for me and Seth, it is for us to gain in our relationship with God while getting closer as friends. A verse that actually quite recently a friend of mine pointed out is,

 1 Corinthians 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

My friend said this verse defines my life very well. And they couldn’t be more right. Because of the way  I live is much different than most high schoolers. When I look at my schedule it is full of stuff for others or for me to grow in my relationship with Christ rather than for it to be partying and for myself. This looks weird to a lot of other high schoolers. I get judged for the number of church things I do from week to week but it doesn’t stop me.

But the reason why I talked about Seth, in the beginning, is because we look odd to people. When you see us, we are both saving ourselves for marriage. Unlike most people. I believe I once heard that only 3% of married couples make it. This is because it is what God wants.

But for the unbelievers in both of our lives this looks dumb to them. Yes, we do get questioned on the weekly, but we just continue to tell people we are waiting. And since we are saved through the power of God it makes this much easier but harder for others to understand.

In a lot of peoples eyes we are not your typical couple. Buts okay because we put God first. 🙂

Thanks for popping by,

Raegan
