Hey guys! I hope you all had a good week! My name’s Alyssa and I am so glad that you’re checking this out! If this is your first time checking this page out or you’re newer to this page, welcome! This blog is co-run by two girls- Alyssa & Raegan. We created this page to share what God has been teaching us and to reach out to this generation that has the world at their fingertips! We hope you find peace here, and that your heart and mind would be open to what God has to tell you through our words. So, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy!
Today I will be talking about something that is so relevant in so many people’s lives (including Raegan and I’s) right now- college. We are both seniors in high school, and currently we are trying to figure out what college to go to and what God is calling us to do with our lives.
Fun fact about me, I will be attending school to be a nurse, and my end goal with my nursing career is to use that in a missionary setting! I want to care for those who are spiritually and physically in need of help. I’ve been accepted to many schools, and guys, I am struggling BIG TIME to pick a school to attend. I have absolutely no idea where I want to go, and I have options of as close as 15 minutes away, to 7 hours.
God has really been teaching me that I need to trust that His plan will shine through in perfect timing. I can be so impatient, especially with making decisions. I want to make the right decision, right now! Is anyone else like that?
In Jeremiah God tells us what He says about trusting in Him.
“This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him” Jeremiah 17:5-7
Right here, God is saying to not trust anyone but him. If we put our trust and hope into Earthly things, then we cannot trust that the future will work out. God has a beautiful and perfect plan for us, and when we allow ourselves to trust that plan and trust God, He will do amazing things. We need to trust God with our future endeavors. Although it can be so scary and nerve wracking to give it all to God, there is great joy in following God’s plan and seeking Him. Personally, I am learning to give my future to God. I have absolutely no idea where God is calling me to go to college and spend the next 4 years of my life. I know I feel led to be a medical missionary, but the journey to get there is unknown. I know in His perfect timing God will reveal to me his plan, and I pray that I will faithfully seek and live out His plan.
I hope you guys are challenged to trust God in what He’s doing in your life and that you will faithfully follow His plan! Have a great week guys!
