Hey guys! It’s Alyssa and I’m so glad that you’re checking this out! I hope you enjoyed your long weekend! I started school officially last week, and I am already so ready for Christmas break! Anyways, today I will be talking about something that is so apparent in so many people’s lives today, and I pray that you will get something out of this message!
“Be still.”- a quote that I tell myself so often, and try so hard to live out daily. Something that is so important to remember in this fast paced world we live in. I fully believe that our society has imprinted in our minds that if our lives are not filled to the brim with plans, then we aren’t worthy enough and aren’t successful enough.
In this stage of life that I am currently in- senior year, choosing a college and more, it can be so easy to want to move on to the next thing life will bring me- marriage, graduating college, starting my dream job, starting a family and more. I am so guilty of always watching wedding videos and picking out my future children’s names. I don’t know about you guys, but I so many times have found myself overlooking some of the best opportunities to make memories in the present. I overlook spirit days, dances, bonfires, games & so much more- what high school is all about by instead dreaming of what I hope will come in the future. I know not all of you are in high school, maybe you’re in college, or even in a stage of life that I have mentioned above. I challenge you all to be present in your journey of life that you are currently living in, and to capture all there is so offer. God has put you here, in this time, for a moment like this. Take advantage of that and live your life.
There is so much more to life than always being stressed out and always working. NEVER FORGET THAT! This time a year ago I had 3 jobs and was in some heavy coursework for school. My life was studying and working, and I missed out on opportunities to live in my present high school years. You only get high school once, so take advantage of it! For those of you all in college, I am sure that your school offers so many opportunities to get involved within campus. Join that club and go to the game! You never know who you will meet or the memories you will make unless you are there!
I encourage you to stop and -be still- in whatever part of life you are in. Be still in your path and do not lose sight of the wonderful things that your CREATOR has placed in front of you for you to enjoy. I fully believe that you are where you are right now for a reason, and once you see that and realize that, oh my word, the wonderful things you will see!
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
I hope you are challenged by this post! Enjoy being PRESENT this week! Love y’all! -Alyssa
