Welcome back, and probably happy Independence Day! For those of you joining for the first time, welcome. The last few weeks my posts have been on the different parts of prayers. The two before were on praising and confession. This part today could probably be one of my favorites! For two reasons, thankfulness is something I love, and on my favorite holiday THANKSGIVING!
Guys, honestly thankfulness is one of the easiest parts. Even though, it is so easy, it’s easily forgotten or even ignored.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 it’s says,“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”
Guys, we are supposed to always be thankful! You can be thankful for what that person represents or something they have done.
I know some of you are thinking, well Raegan, what is there all to be thankful about.. Well I have 6 verses and reasons to be thankful!
God and his goodness, Love, and faithfulness forever
Psalm 100:4-5 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Colossians 3:15-17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Psalm 31:7-8 I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.
Psalm 147:7-9 Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
Always being thankful
1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus
Guys, these are six simple things. I’m sure you can think of so many more. Well, this week’s challenge is to is to incorporate the last three! Praising, Confession and Thankfulness. Super easy challenge, but this time your challenge is to pray twice a day, right after you wake, and when you are going to bed. Feel free to pray more absolutely, but my challenge to you is to pray twice a day with those three parts!
Love ya, Raegan
