Grace Upon Grace

Hey y’all! Welcome back! My name is Alyssa & I am SO glad that you are checking this out! Today I will be wrapping up my series on Romans 8! I hope you guys get as much out of Romans 8 as I do, it seriously is one of my favorites!

In the song “Reckless Love”, it talks about truly how there is nothing that can stop God from coming after us. “There’s no wall You won’t kick down, lie You won’t tear down coming after me… It chases me down, fights til I’m found, leaves the 99.” My friends, there is not one thing that can separate us from the love of God! I know this song can seem so overplayed, but I encourage you to really take in the truth and grace that this song proclaims.

Let’s dig into some scripture!

Romans 8:31-34 say:

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave him up for us all- how will He also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge to those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died- more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

Previously, Paul was talking about suffering and pain. But throughout our suffering, if God is for us, then what possibly could be against us? Honestly guys, if the one who holds our futures is for us and on our team, who would want to go against that? God gave us His Son, His one and only Son. If He gave us the greatest gift of all of Jesus, then how will be not also give us all things? God holds our lives in His hands. He gives & takes away! No one shall justify or judge those whom God has chosen. There is no one who shall condemn you. Jesus who died & rose again is a work of God and is working for you and God’s purpose.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble, or hardship, or persecution, or famine or nakedness or sword? As it is written: For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8: 35-39

I’m not sure if you caught on or not, but there is absolutely nothing that could ever separate us from the love of God. Naturally, humans will wander. Unfortunately, we are in the same way in our relationship with Jesus. We wander away from God and His perfect, thought out plan for us. Thank goodness for grace, and the fact that God will never hold our wandering against us & will never forsake us. Maybe we wander off & begin a relationship with someone we probably shouldn’t. Maybe we act one way at work, and another complete different way at church. Maybe we hear God clearly saying to end a relationship with a bad influence, but we continue with the relationship. No matter how far we go or how deep we may wander, we are NEVER too far from God. Maybe we go as far as completely disregarding and shutting God out of our lives. When we turn away from God, He is still right behind you, waiting for you to turn to Him.

I hope you guys enjoyed this series- I love being able to share what God has put on my heart on this page! Thank you guys for reading & supporting Raegan & I- it means the entire world to us!

We love you & are praying for you! Have a great week!
